[D] Alizati arrived in his quarters after his shift. He was greeted by the Furberus as always, the three headed monstrosity slithered over to their creator for pets that Alizati gladly gave. After the Furberus' daily dose of head scritches, Alizati walked over to his work station and pressed a few buttons to initiate a video call connecting to.. Vulcan. The Furberus had followed Alizati and were now draped over his lap, content to just lay there like a very long blanket.

After a brief wait, hia father appeared on the screen, the austere walls of his office at the Vulcan science academy behind him. A thin eyebrow arched up-- more of a lightest of twitches, really-- at the sight of Alizati, though of course Sorn would have been informed of the identity of his caller when he accepted the call. Nonetheless, there was a faintly pleased light deep within that reserved,, neutral expression, as he saluted his son. "Ilzatliçat. To what do I owe the pleasure of this call? Though it is an anomaly, you do not seem to be in distress."

"Father," Alizati bowed his head slightly, not smiling, but his warm gaze was all that was needed to convey his relief seeing his father's face afte so long. Sorn looked the same as always, although that was not saying much as his father was not very old. Alizati had one hand petting the Furberus and the other resting on his console, dark eyes shaking ever so slightly as he looked at the screen. "I wanted to ask how T'Lhai was doing and... How things have been with your work," Alizati always wanted to ask about T'Hain, but he didn't want to start off with such a stressful topic. Although his father had voiced disappointment upon witnessing his wife's treatment of Alizati, he wasn't sure if that was enough to push for a divorce-- especially when his sister was getting ready to start pre-school.

Well used to reading subtly varied moods, even with Vulcan emotional composure, Sorn could only surmise that there was a hidden meaning to his son's questioning. With their conflicting schedules, it wouldn't have been much of an exaggeration to say they spoke face to face solely when other forms of communication failed to suffice. "Work has been much the same. There are marked improvements with the new strain of terran soybeans, though several variations will need slight amending," But Alizati wasn't here to discuss his research, Sorn thought wryly. "T'Lhai has been excelling in her studies, and I suspect she will go far as the years progress. She thinks of you often, Ilzatliçat."

The three headed monstrosity lifted their head to glance at the screen. Bir extended his head and gave one single nose boop whilst the others remained still. Of course Alizati's expression was unchanged, unblinking, his dark green eyes staring forward. "That is fascinating, do keep me updated on the soy beans," Alizati may not have had much interest in agriculture, but he enjoyed hearing about his father's projects. It was something that brought him joy, well, he could tell it was joy. "Is she? I expected nothing less from my sister, we both have a great mentor in you," Although he appreciated his father's academic-focused parenting style, there were times where he wondered if Sorn was leaning too heavily into learning and forgetting to just have fun. Raising an organic child was much different from a mechanical one, but perhaps all those nights of textbooks being read as bedtime stories made a good impression. "I regret that I have not been able to visit often. I have been very busy as Chief Engineer. I am also exploring baking, I made a carrot cake the other day for Men and I. It was... Dry. I have to admit, I feel a little discouraged. I had not tried baking since my time on the Vulcanis Lunar Colony. It is illogical, but my treatment as a lesser form of life during my years there has been one of the things keeping me from exploring all aspects of my... Independence. Speaking of which, has T'Hain said anything about me lately?"

Narrator BOT 01-Oct-23 05:26 AM
There was a light bemusement in his voice; indeed Sorn could have been said to be an indulgent father by Vulcan standards, rarely seeking to direct the lives of his offspring, biological or otherwise. He sought, above all, to teach those who looked to him for support and advice moderation in temperament and lifestyle, keen observation and moral and patient analysis, and the value of consideration over rash impulsivity. With benevolent patience he listened to his son waffle around the main objective of this communication. Of course it could not have possibly been about the carrot cake, after all. It seemed Ilzatliçat had failed to overcome this perennial nervous habit of his to speak around a subject he felt sensitive. No matter. He would, perhaps, in time. "T'Hain, to my knowledge, mentions you rarely." If at all. He was aware, after all, of the high disdain his partner held for his son, and she in turn of the firm disapproval he had for such opinions. "What worries you?"

"Of course, I always want to hear about your studies and T'Lhai" Alizati wished that he could speak with his father more often, but the two had their own lives to live. He fell silent when Sorn spoke of T'Hain, unsurprised that she wouldn't have anything to say to him. Equally, he had nothing to say to her after what her family had put him through. He still remembered the look on his father's face when he awoke on Vulcan to learn that the Synth Ban had been repealed. It was odd to think that three years of his 'life' were forever lost just because of T'Hain's family's carelessness. "I was thinking of visiting you and T'Lhai. However.." Alizati paused, wondering how to phrase his next question. "If T'Hain is going to be there, I will not make the trip. To be fully transparent with you, father, I think she is an insufferable woman and someone who does not respect all life does not deserve to be called 'mother'," Alizati was usually not so forward, but he was speaking with his father, the man whom had helped write out his programming, literally seen all of his insides. Plus, directness was something valued by Vulcans, it did nothing to hide his feelings from his very Vulcan father.

"Understood and the last thing I would ever do is force you to be around someone who has caused you such distress. If I could, I would make the trip to 777 with T'Lhai to visit you. Unfortunately I feel that the journey may be too long for T'Lhai. She will be starting school soon and I would rather not burden her with more changes," Sorn responded as he caught sight of the Furberus as they moved on the other side of the screen. "Your engineering project, is it done?" He decided to ask about Alizati's progress with the Furby. After all, it was Sorn that had sourced all the materials to build them.

"They are nearly done. Once I have finished testing, I will bring them to Vulcan, hence why I made this call," Alizati stated as he gently lifted the creature up so his father could see all three heads staring at him.

Before Sorn could answer there was a soft chime of the bell to signal someone had arrived at Alizati's quarters.

"Excuse me father. Could we resume this conversation another time? I apologise for the briefness," Alizati said as he glanced at the clock only to realise he had planned a short interview at that time. Planning a time to deliver the Furberus would have to wait. On the other end of the screen, Sorn bowed his head and the two exchanged ta'al gestures and the typical 'live long and prosper' statement and then the call ended. "Come in," Alizati said and the doors to his quarters swished open.

Swaggering into the man's quarters was none other than the station detective, Lama! "Jolan tru, sir," He said in a surprisingly calm and casual tone. "Here for the interview, 1700 hours," He knew how Vulcans were about being 'punctual' and made sure he was not a minute late!
Avatar
Lt. Cdr. Alizati tr'Kota | ENG BOT 01-Oct-23 05:39 AM
"Jolan tru," Alizati returned the greeting as he slowly stood up. The Furberus slid off of his lap and made their way to the sofa to lounge there for the interview. "Can I replicate anything for you?" He asked as he made his way to the replicator. Just because Alizati didn't need to eat or drink didn't stop him from offering such things to his guests.

"I'm good! This interview shouldn't be too long, I just got a couple questions. By the way would it be alright if I record this interview to share it with relevant parties? The recording will only be shared with security and the bar owner," Lama gave his typical intro and request for permission to record.

Lt. Cdr. Alizati tr'Kota | ENG BOT 01-Oct-23 05:52 AM
"I consent to that," Alizati said as he replicated himself a cup of cold spice tea and headed to the sofa to start the interview. He was unsure what sort of questions were going to be asked, but he did not anticipate them to be very difficult to answer. He had a clear opinion formed on the 'Supernova Bar'.

Lieutenant Lama tr'Ehweia | SEC BOT 01-Oct-23 05:54 AM
"Okay so first, do you know of the establishment in the food court called 'Supernova Bar' and have you ever visited?" Lama whipped out his PADD and began to read out the first question. He didn't seem nervous at all interviewing the CEO, actually, he had interviewed the Eventide XO and the ACEO already so this was going to be a breeze. Lama also typically did not get nervous in the face of authority, he had way too few thoughts in his head to feel any sort of uneasiness.

Lt. Cdr. Alizati tr'Kota | ENG BOT 01-Oct-23 05:55 AM
"I am aware and no I have not gone," Alizati stated as he slowly sipped his tea."Although I would also make a note that I am an android and do not require food or drink to sustain myself. I only require biolubricant, which is something one can easily replicate. Aside from my fiance's establishment, Surak Snacks, I do not typically visit other eating establishments," He added with a slow nod.

Lieutenant Lama tr'Ehweia | SEC BOT 01-Oct-23 06:07 AM
"Alrighty, yep noted," Lama clicked some buttons on his PADD and on his recording device when he realised he hadn't turned it on! No matter, it was just the first question. "I know you already told me your reasoning, but is there any other reason you have not visited Supernova bar?" He asked his followup question, wondering if Alizati had anything to say about the name.

Lt. Cdr. Alizati tr'Kota | ENG BOT 01-Oct-23 06:07 AM
"Not in particular, no," Came his reply.
Avatar
Lieutenant Lama tr'Ehweia | SEC BOT 01-Oct-23 06:07 AM
"Understood," Lama had hoped Alizati would speak more about the name, but he did not. Well, he was Vulcan so maybe a more direct question would help get the information he wanted. "And what are your impressions of the name? I know you're... Uhh, half Romulan?"
Avatar
Lt. Cdr. Alizati tr'Kota | ENG BOT 01-Oct-23 06:07 AM
"If you are asking if i find the name offensive, I do not personally feel offended, however the feelings of discomfort from others are certainly valid. Suprenova is the name of a rare event in which a star implodes on itself. It has been used in popular culture and media, for example," Alizati paused and grabbed his PADD. "There is a famous terran girl group from the 21st century that released a song called Galaxy Supernova. The term has also been used in many other instances to make something sound rare and explosive. These usages predate the Hobus Supernova by many years," Alizati stated as he slid the PADD towards Lama so he could see the many usages of Supernova throughout cultures and time periods. "As I am sure you are aware, within Romulan culture we do not even use the word 'Supernova' to refer to the Hobus event. We opt for the more serious term, 'D'Temehludet' or simply, 'The Loss' in standard," He stated plainly in his typical Vulcan monotone.

Lieutenant Lama tr'Ehweia | SEC BOT 01-Oct-23 06:07 AM
"That is true, but in Standard, which is the common language on the station, a lot of people refer to it as the Hobus Supernova. I don't think many people are aware of what 'D'Temehludet' means," Lama offered a counterargument, although he was not trying to invalidate the CEO's points. "Do you think anything should happen to the bar in terms of the name? You stated it well, the term 'Supernova' has been used in pop culture throughout history and technically us Romulans have our own term. It's not like the bar is named Hobus Supernova Bar or something like that."
Avatar
Lt. Cdr. Alizati tr'Kota | ENG BOT 01-Oct-23 06:13 AM
"Another valid point. Although the term has been used throughout history, we do need to be sensitive to context. For example, it would seem very ill placed if a fictional TV show released an episode about a murder mystery right after a big murder case happened," Alizati explained slowly, sipping his tea between sentences. "As for the fate of the bar. Although I am not offended by it and the term is a general space phenomenon, for many Romulans who visit 777, it would certainly be a bad look. There is nothing inherently offensive about naming a bar after a general phenomenon, just like a bar named Nebula Bar or Astroid Belt Bar would be seen as innocuous, one must also consider context," Alizati placed his cup down and gave the Furberus some pets as they 'snoozed'. "I perosnally do not think the bar should be forced to change their name, but they should be made aware of the impact having such a name has on the other occupants and visitors and strongly consider a name change. I am not sure how your other interviews have gone, but if the name is seriously distressing others then perhaps a force of name change is required," Alizati did not feel very strongly about the name of the bar, but if others did and it was hurting the reputation of the base with their visitors then of course the name should be changed.

Lieutenant Lama tr'Ehweia | SEC BOT 01-Oct-23 06:25 AM
"Aye, yeah I agree. I don't like telling people what not to name their own establishments, but when it gets to the point of causing others physical discomfort and uneasiness, action must be taken," Lama was actually very mad about the name, but he knew better than to get too heated in front of the very Vulcan CEO. And even if Alizati wasn't Vulcan, he didn't want to sound too biased, he was there to conduct an unbiased interview. "I think that's it for me, unless you have anything else to say?"

Lt. Cdr. Alizati tr'Kota | ENG BOT 01-Oct-23 06:25 AM
"Nothing else, I wish you luck on your interviews. I think the opinions of others is very important in cases like these and I admire your diligence to collecting all of the data before going forward with formal actions," Alizati told Lama and stood up so he could walk the other to the door.

"Okay yeah, that was a dumb question. Well, thanks for chatting with me! Romulan to Romulan," Lama shot Alizati some finger guns and a wink. Both actions were not returned, of course. "And goodbye the Furberus, you're very cute!" He added right before skipping out the door!

[D] In his quarters that day, Alizati was up and about in quite a weird position. The chief engineer was standing behind his sofa bent over as if he was falling, but no, his torso was perfectly straight in a weird half-plank sort of pose. He was grabbing his hair with one hand and in the other, he held what appeared to be a mechanical brush of some sort. The tiny device buzzed as he combed it through his hair, grabbing strands to run them through the machine. On the sofa in front of the engineer was The Furberus. The happy and helpful three headed monstrosity seemed to be pecking at Alizati's head, taking turns with each of their three beaks. For every spot the creature pecked, Alizati grabbed the hair from that section to run through the machine. Oh and through all of this, Alizati was just in underpants. No shirt, nothing. No real reason aside from the fact that Alizati had a strange impulse to grow and dye his hair that morning and had employed the Furberus to assist. Soon, Alizati's full head was a very sleek silver with a few blue patches still, but they made for pretty low lights. He stood up straight and ruffled his hair with his fingers to try and get some of the long strands away from his face. With the Furberus following behind, Alizati headed over to his work station where he had a small stand mirror set up so he could check to make sure it all looked good. He also had a pair of scissors there to do any touch ups. Alizati was regretting not just going to the station salon, it probably would have been easier and... Less messy.

Once he was sure the styling was good, Alizati grabbed his PADD and took a picture and then sent it to his father. He hoped Men would like the change. "Thank you, Bir, Ikki, and Yuch, I believe this style is good," Alizati gave each of the three heads pats and planted a small kiss on their heads too. Very loving! The Furberus chirped and then slithered away back to the sofa where they could practice Kal-toh by themselves. While they did that, Alizati sat at his work station to away his father's reply. Sorn was usually awake at this time, it was noon on Vulcan.

Were it anyone else standing in her position, maybe they would have been nervous. Anyone would be, standing at the door of someone they'd agreed to not contact. Someone they used to detest for the crime of existing... Thilassa thought such things illogical, including the way she'd acted. For the way she'd treated Alizati. She was caught up in her grief then-- a mother's instinct, she supposed, losing a son and then immediately seeing his face on someone else would throw anyone off. But it wasn't fair. With that soup of emotions carefully stirred and settled, she took a deep breath, clearing her mind before requesting entry.

Alizati was playing with the Furberus that day. If they were going to be a companion for his baby sister, it would make sense that they would have the ability to play like any other pet. Alizati was testing out with a simple game of fetch, however it seemed whenever he threw the ball, the Furberus would just slither over to it and lay down. That was not how the game was to be played, but Alizati was unsure how to 'teach' the creature tricks. It knew Kal-toh and basic interactions, but that was about it. He was surprised to hear the chime at the door and before he could react, the Furberus had slithered over to answer it. The automatic doors swooshed open and standing before him and his three headed monstrosity was...... Dzharok's mother? ".... Jolan tru," Alizati was unsure why Thilassa was here. The two had mutually agreed to never contact each other again. He was sure she was going to carry on with her life on Vulcan and he, his career in Starfleet. The last time they spoke was... he almost couldn't remember, it was before the Synth ban for sure. "Come in," Alizati gently nudged the Furberus who seemed very intrigued about who this new person was. The three headed creature slithered away and over towards the sofas.

Thilassa saluted in response, straightening her posture and bowing her head a little. "Alizati," she greeted politely, her tone cool and clear as water. "I hope this isn't an intrusion. I understand this is short notice, if not entirely without it." She glanced down at the three headed...something slithering across the room, raising an eyebrow, though saying nothing. It was horrific, but oddly charming at the same time?.. Now was hardly the time to ask. She stood awkwardly for a moment, glancing around the space. "I wanted to talk to you. A conversation I've, admittedly, owed you for a long time. Though, that can wait for now." It would be impolite to do so immediately, after all. "How... are you? How have you found the Starbase? I've heard you're Chief of Engineering. Very impressive and certainly well deserved." She inclined her head little in a nod.

Hearing his 'mother' call him by his actual name and not Dzharok was... strange. A feeling of relief mixed with surprised washed over him. He folded his hands in front of him and kept a professional posture, but in his mind, he was happy to see his mother-- Dzharok's mother. She was.. apologising to him? He did not think she needed to apologise. She was in her right to reject the clone of her dead son, to never want to see him again. He could understand from her perspective, a grieving mother, the last thing she wanted was to see the face of her son on a man who was clearly not her son. Alizati brought his hand up to touch his forehead, suddenly remembering that along with some other features (his hair for instance), his forehead ridges were yet another addition that differed his apperance from Dzharok. If anything, he looked more like Dzharok's father, Dalin. "I.. Thank you," His voice faltered as he struggled for the words to say. "The starbase is a good home and I am enjoying my position here. As you probably could have guessed, my specialty is artificial intelligence and machine learning, it is where I have found my greatest passion," Alizati felt strange telling his mother this whilst he stood here, looking just like Dzharok. The only difference is Dzharok would never have anything to do with artificial intelligence, if anything, he despised it. Dzharok was an environmental scientist, essentially the opposite of Alizati now, which felt... Odd, sometimes. "And you, mother? What brought you here today?"

There was no smile on the Vulcan's face, however, her gaze softened just a little. Years of grief and exhaustion had worn it down just a little. Her gaze was almost... a little sad, looking at Alizati-- even if he had many differences from her son, she couldn't help the little void in the pit of her stomach at the sight of him, even, or perhaps especially, after all this time. Thilassa listened quietly and intently, nodding along to what he said. The void lessened just a little as Alizati mentioned artificial intelligence, vivid memories gently pushed to the back of her mind. It was easy for her. Easy as breathing. In and out. Her attention drifted briefly upwards, climbing his face to rest on his ridges. A subtle flick of the eyes, but nothing quite imperceptible. The void nearly consumed her, then. Grief washing over in a wave. He looked just like... Not now. She inclined her head in another polite nod. "That is good to hear. I should expect nothing less." Not that she really knew...what to expect. Alizati wasn't her son-- not in the same way Dzharok was, but that didn't stop the soft glow of pride in her chest. Her expression remained stagnant. "I applied for a research project on Mol'rihan. To tell the truth, I wanted to see you. To see how you've been." For a second, the slightest hint of a smile barely turned up her face. "You look well. You seem... happy."

Alizati had few memories of Thilassa, as both himself and as Dzharok. Thilassa had always been a career focused woman with most of her efforts given to studying and learning more about the universe as most Vulcans did. He knew that about her, he expected that of her, but why did he feel..... as if something was lacking between them. As if he had wanted his mother to greet him with open arms and say everything she was feeling. But that was not how Vulcans did, especially not someone like Thilassa. Alizati kept his professionalism about himself, but the shards of Dzharok's memories poked ever so lightly on the back of his neck. "Thank you for your praise, I am honoured someone of your position is visiting me today," Alizati said as if Thilassa was not literally his mother, just some any old scientist coming to visit 777's CEO. "Congratulations on your new project. I hear Mol'Rihan has some of the brightest young minds, they could use a seasoned mind to guide them," He continued his diplomatic responses, steeling his mind from any emotions that could possible leak through. He moved slowly and as natural as possible towards the replicator. "You are correct. I have been well," Alizati looked over his shoulder at his mother. "Before we speak any further, would you like something to drink? I can replicate anything you like, or... I have fresh tea, from Vulcan," Alizati waved his hand over to a small little tea set up on the table. It was an assortment of traditional tea items. A kettle, loose tea leaves, everything needed for the comforts of home. The tray was crafted by Alizati, he had programmed the replicator to create the tray with custom sized sections to hold the cups and the leaves. Very pretty and all a nice Vulcan maroon colour, the colour of sand dunes.

So professional, so diplomatic. The perfect picture of a Starfleet officer, at least from her outsiders' perspective. Thilassa hummed in reply. "Thank you." she said. She'd worked hard for many years to get where she was now, and would like to think she'd earned it. Though ... It didn't stop her from wishing she'd done things a little differently. Spent more time with her son. Wasn't so hard on him before...everything crumbled. She wasn't a fool -- she knew she wasn't perfect. To expect perfection is illogical. To strive for the best despite the odds is the only real way forward. At least in her eyes. "They will certainly need someone to guide them, and it is an honor to be chosen. Both of us have worked very hard to get where we are today." Alizati's appearance and his workload made that much clear. Advancing to CEO and fighting so hard to sever himself from Dzharok... He'd certainly been busy. She sat up a little straighter, eyeing the kettle. Impressive. "Tea sounds wonderful," she said, nodding in the affirmative. It gave a moment Alizati wouldn't be looking at her. A moment she could speak. She took a breath in, letting it out in a sigh. "A lot of the apologies I wish I could say are not for you. Therefore, I do not wish for you to carry their burden. I.. was grieving, when we met, even if I had shut my son out. Nonetheless, I apologize for treating you so coldly." She lowered her head a little, ashamed. "It was not your choice to be created. It is no one's choice. After all this time, I am not expecting forgiveness. I do not expect you to say anything at all. I... just want you to know that I am sorry. And I am proud of what you have accomplished. What you have made of yourself, the man you have become. However, should you find it within your heart, I would like to know you as that man. Not as a ghost of someone long gone."

Upon the acceptance of his offer, Alizati began to prepare the tea. It was beneficial to be an android when making tea because he could time his movements to the second and create exactly the same steep every time. Well, as exact as he could, there was still the unpredictability of the tea leaves and temperature fluctuations in the water. He was glad he wasn't facing Thilassa now because had he been looking at her when she spoke such kind words of praise, he would have probably cried. "Your praise humbles me. Thank you," Alizati turned around holding a tray with two tea cups and brought them to the small coffee table. "I...," Alizati was not expecting an apology and to be honest he didn't even expect the two of them to ever speak again. He sat down on the sofa beside the woman his predecessor had once called ri'ranov (mother). His eyes watered, but his stoic expression did not break. "I understand. I appreciate your words and although I cannot speak for my predecessor, I know him well and... I think he would understand. He always admired you, I can tell you that," Alizati felt a warm energy wash over him. At first he thought perhaps he was overheating but upon a quick diagnostics scan it was... his emotion chip. Where Dzharok's personality was loaded. "For me. I understand why you did what you did. It is admirable that you have looked back on your past critically. If I was Dzharok, I would certainly be proud to call you my mother," Alizati felt validated being addressed as himself rather than his predecessor. Even a stoic Vulcan like Alizati couldn't help but glow with pride from Thilassa's praise. She was not his mother per say, but Dzharok's consciousness that still lived inside him couldn't have been happier to hear her words. "If I may be frank. I do not have much family. I have my father Sorn as you are aware, and my sister, Sorn's daughter T'Lhai. During the Synth ban I lived with sorn's family who.. Dismantled me."

She kept her head down and her expression unchanging, unable to look Alizati in the eye, instead happily accepting a cup of tea with a quiet "Thank you." Though, the mention of Dzharok admiring her was nearly enough to break Thilassa. Her hands shook just a little as she cupped a teacup in them, nodding along as Alizati spoke. The grief never really truly left -- it merely buried itself, resurfacing when it thought fit. She hated it for that. Something ached in her chest at the shine in his eye. She may have been imagining it. She took a long moment, disguising it by blowing gently on her tea. "That is... kind of you to say," she managed. All she could choke out, really. All of this was just a bit...much. Thilassa remained steady as she could, though, blinking a few times in quiet surprise. "Dismantled...?" Sorn was a colleague of hers, albeit a different field of study, but he... She finally spared Alizati a glance, brows furrowing a little as the metaphorical gears of her mind whirred into overdrive. She got over her shock and became even more serious, if possible, leaning in a little. "Has anything been done about this? Have they faced no consequences for this..?" Oh, she was certainly filing a complaint. They'd certainly be arrested.

Alizati saw the distress in Dzharok's mother's eyes and averted his own, glancing at the Furberus who was being quiet during this whole exchange. The three headed gentle beast lay motionless to the side of the sofa that they were sitting at, not making any noise, but also not completely 'asleep'. Bir and Ikki's eyes were open, whilst Yuch's was closed. Alizati then looked back at Thilassa with a soft expression as he imagined just what her thoughts were at that moment. Dzharok had never mind melded with his mother, for reasons that Alizati was unsure of, even during his wedding, although it was ritual for Vulcans to perform a meld with their parents, he chose to forego that part. "... No, nothing has been done. I did not want cause unnecessary problems. Although the experience was less than ideal," 'traumatic' was what it was, but Alizati hesitated to use that word for whatever reason. "I understand their point of view. I am a machine and I was designed to be a tool," and a robot boyfriend, essentially, but Thilassa knew that, he assumed. "I am unsure what sort of consequences could be taken, I was not killed nor was I fatally wounded. Also a part of me feels.... Like it would be ungrateful. They did hide me during the Synth Ban."

Thilassa considered for a moment, hiding behind a tentative sip of her tea. There were many ways to proceed, many different options, all carefully considered. The most logical was one she would have to get permission to do. "That does not excuse what they did to you. The guilt you feel from the connection you have... I can imagine it is understandable. However, you are still alive, Alizati." She looked up at him, setting down her tea. "You are capable of living and thinking and feeling, and they dismantled you. Compare it to dismembering someone with real flesh and blood. Would you excuse it then? You are not merely a tool, no more so than myself. You are alive." Thilassa closed her eyes for a moment and sighed. "I do not wish to intrude on your personal matters. However. I happen to be a colleague of Sorn. If you would allow me to, and if you think it the best course of action, I would like to file a complaint. There is a chance they will be arrested. Are you alright with that?" Alizati's safety was more important to her right now. Maybe it was her motherly instincts sparking back to life. Funny how that worked.

Alizati's eyes looked downwards in a pensive expression as he listened to the words of Dzharok's mother. Thilassa was technically not his mother, but the firmness of her voice and the look in her eyes was awfully similar to how she spoke to Dzharok. It was comforting, in a strange way. The traits that Dzharok used to detest in his mother became the ones that made Alizati feel most at ease. Someone who was fiercly protective of him, someone who was strict with rules. Thilassa had a point, Alizati was a sentient being. Synth ban or not, he was alive. "You have my permission to file a formal complaint. I appreciate you doing this on my behalf. I... I do not have words to describe my gratitude. I strongly feel that Sorn would join you,β€œ Alizati could not speak directly for his father, but Sorn had long been waiting for a chance to press charges against his 'family' for their treatment of Alizati. The Furberus, who was sitting quietly at the side of the sofa, lifted their two heads (Yuch was still asleep) to chime in with, "Alizati deserved better, no cap!" The creature was clearly spending a lot of time with Allan or just around humans in general as they did not learn such a phrase from their vey Vulcan creator.

Thilassa gave the fuzzy beast an odd look at the phrase, brows furrowing a little, but she said nothing. They were right. Alizati deserved better...both from his family, and from her. This was the first step she could take. She'd work tirelessly to fix what she'd done -- Thilassa was never the kind of woman to 'half-ass' anything, for lack of a better word. She looked at Alizati, looked at the face of her son and pushed past it to find the person beneath. "There is no need for gratitude. It is the least I can do. As soon as I am able, I will fill out the proper paperwork and see to it justice is served." She hesitated for a long moment. "Nonetheless, if you would allow me, I would like to... bridge the gap, as the saying goes, that I have created between us. Perhaps as friends?.." She raised her arms a little -- almost awkwardly -- ready to drop the attempted embrace if Alizati displayed any sign of discomfort. "I am proud of you, if I have not said it enough. You've grown into a wonderful man. I hope Sorn is proud of you as well."

Alizati glanced at the Furberus, not entirely sure where they learned the phrase or if it would be understood by Thilassa. Dzharok's mother was a traditional Vulcan and certainly not someone who would be using the hip and trendy slang for the time so he hoped she wasn't too confused. "Thank you, Thilassa. That means a lot for me. I will inform Sorn as well and if needed, I will happily provide receipts of my treatment. I have everything in my personal logs," Alizati stated, referring to the personal logs he personally stored as memories. "Friends..?" Alizati raised an eyebrow and looked at Dzharok's mother. "I... I would like that too," unbeknownst to Alizati, his eyes began to water as he looked upon the face of the woman his predecessor had once called 'mother'. She was technically not his mother, but he felt like she could be. Alizati inched closer to her and lifted his arms so they could embrace. "That means a lot to me," He said with tears beginning to stream down his face. For so long he only had one parent so having a second was certainly a welcome thing. "May i.. Hug you?" Alizati asked, already leaning forward.

Thilassa was a bit more at ease at Alizati mentioning he'd happily cooperate with any investigation. That'd make the process run a little bit smoother, at least. She could only hope for the best, that everything would go according to plan. "Whatever you want to do, Alizati. I trust you to use your judgement to navigate the situation as you see fit," she said, pulling him into his arms as he asked. His watery eyes had brought her close to the same a few times. There was just something about the sight of him -- she was working hard to look at Alizati, rather than Dzharok, and it was certainly easier with how his appearance had changed -- but she couldn't help the motherly little pang in her chest. Thilassa's embrace was warm, but tentative, almost navigating an unfamiliar situation. Her son hadn't been in her arms in a long time. Alizati had never been. She felt like she needed to make up for that. She struggled for just a second to find the right words.. "It is... alright, if you need to cry. You have been through very much with not enough support. That is a fault and a burden I will carry with me," she whispered, squeezing him a little, "and will work to remedy the best I can. I...am sorry it took me so long."

"Thank you," Alizati seemed to just fall into Thilassa's arms. They weren't mother and son by blood, but he certainly did feel as if he was reuniting with his mother. It was a different feeling than when he had been reunited with Lun and Lalisa. They were nice (usually), but he had always felt like the pressure was on him to be Dzharok. This time though, with Thilassa, he did not feel such pressure. Perhaps it was a mother's unconditional love for her child no matter what form said child could take, but Alizati truly felt like Thilassa was his mother. As if he was not competing to be better or replace Dzharok, but that Thilassa loved him as he was now, Dzharok or Alizati. "I appreciate that, riranov (mother)," Alizati took the unique approach to address Thilassa with the Romulan term as opposed to the Vulcan term for mother. Perhaps it was his own attempt to separate himself from his predecessor, but it felt right. Tears began to fall from his eyes as they fluttered shut, a wave of emotions washing over him as he was held by the older woman he now also called mother. "I know it's not easy for you," He could only imagine how painful it was for a mother to not only lose her only son, but to see him reanimated in a mechanical body against his wishes. "I am glad you came to visit, I love you."

It was a Thursday during his typical working hours - and not during Alizati's, which worked out well. Mostly because he was not on duty also due to medical leave. He'd been back to work after the medical leave from the terrasphere mission for less than a week - maybe half a week? And was having a great time getting over things, and then, well.. he was on medical leave all over again now. Still, he wanted excuses to talk with Alizati outside of regularly scheduled Kal-toh and work meetings, and so.. he was here. He was dressed in a dark green hoodie and black sweatpants, hood pulled over his head as if he didn't want anyone to see him walking up to the CEO's door. Which, in all aspects, was true. He didn't want anyone to see his bright red hair and strike up conversation with him and ask how he was doing, because he couldn't give them both a good and honest answer right now, which is all he ever gave. He chimed the doorbell with one hand, his other holding his PADD and a what looked like a rolled up blueprint or two.

Alizati was planking as he had stated. His chosen location was planking face down with his ankles resting on this console and his head on his chair. This allowed him to read what was on the screen and work on his stability at the same time. To send messages he had been utilising speech to text so that he didn't need to move from his plank position. It was something his father had recommended based on research done at the Daystrom institute. It apparently helped with stability and concentration in Androids. Alizati was only planning on spending a few more minutes in the position, but he was quite comfortable and ended up losing track of time. Before he knew it, he heard a chime at the door and rolled like a log to dismount his plank. A very loud 'thud' could be heard as the mechanical CEO hit the ground directly on his side. He didn't scream, but it did hurt 'like a bitch" as humans would say. The Furberus slithered over to the door to answer it, seemingly unconcerned by Alizati hitting the ground. They knew he'd be ok, but they wanted to see Allan! "Jolan tru!" The creature greeted as the automatic doors swung open. It was certainly an odd sight to see; the three headed monstrosity smiling whilst Alizati laid in the family guy dead pose behind them. Thankfully, he was moving, but it was taking him a few seconds to get to his feet and when he was standing normally he went over to greet Allan.

Allan was only slightly concerned when he heard a thud - perhaps the CEO had dropped something heavy, or any other sort of possibility - and so he patiently waited for the door to then slide open, looking down at the Furberus with a smile. It was always nice to see them, and he was more and more impressed with their voice capabilities in training every day that they spoke. "Jolan tru," he said to them in turn, his eyes looking across the room to see where Alizati had gone and - oh. "H-hey, um-" panic started to set in just slightly, but it quickly dissipated once the other had in fact stood up and come over to greet Allan. "Oh, okay - you're um, you're good. That's... good." He took a deep breath and waved at him, and smiled again, walking in to set the PADD and blueprints down. "How, um.. how have you been? Aside from the.. are you alright, actually? Like, uh. I mean, you know how I've - but, you -" he stopped talking and instead stood still and nodded at Alizati, then looked down to the Furberus. "I... sorry for rambling. The Furberus, um - they're doing a lot better with their speech, aren't they..?"

"I am always good," Alizati stayed plainly as he looked at Allan, very much unharmed. One good thing about being an android was that although he did feel pain, it didn't linger. It could if he wanted it to, but in most cases he just turned off and turned on his nervous system and the pain disappeared. He raised an eyebrow when Allan began speaking as he could sense something was immediately off. He had read the report from the away mission so he had a basic understanding of what happened, although what was unclear was the long lasting psychological damage. Physical injuries were cleared and although Allan was in therapy, it seemed like a beast that would take a lifetime to tame. "They are, you may take a seat," Alizati stepped aside and headed towards the sofa so the two of them could chat comfortably. The Furberus rubbed all three of its long necks against Allan's ankles before slithering towards the sofa to 'sit' down as much as a mechanical three headed furby could. "I have reconnected with Dzharok's mother. She and Sorn will be in talks about bringing Sorn's family to court for their mistreatment of me during the Synth ban," Alizati walked over to the replicator. "I read your away mission report, it seems you had quite the mission. Would you like something to drink while we chat?"

"Right," Allan smiled nervously when the other said he was always good. He figured it was best to not bring up the time he had first asked Alizati if he was good, while he was an ensign and Alizati was powered off on the floor. That was the first time Allan had gotten in trouble on the station, and the first time Alizati had spoken to him on a personal level, having been personally appreciative of Allan's efforts despite the exact legal-ness of them. "Good. I'm really glad they're learning well," he said without much emotion behind his voice, but he really was proud of them, even if his tone of voice didn't show it. He sat down on the sofa, closest to the side where he'd put his stuff down on the table. Scooching into the corner and sitting criss-crossed with his arms in his lap, he also gave a small smile to the Furberus as they climbed up onto the couch as well. "Oh," it took a moment to rack his brain for the information on the context to what Alizati had just said, but it found it eventually. "That's good. Deserved." He was silent again for a moment as he considered what he would want to drink, if anything. "Do you have any redspice tea on hand..?" He asked, as if Alizati wouldn't. He didn't think much into the fact that he still was very much avoidant of Surak Snacks at the moment. He'd avoided giving Men any glances if they passed in the halls. He was down that bad, it seemed.

The Furberus chirped softly when Allan said they were learning well. All three heads chirped, even Yuch even though Yuch looked a little sleepy. "I appreciate it and it seems they appreciate it too," Alizati glanced at Allan briefly. ”And yes I do, Men's blend," He was unaware that Allan was avoiding Surak Snacks, although he assumed given all that had happened in the last month, Allan had been avoiding a lot of things. He cooked the water until it boiled and steeped the tea. The process took only a few minutes and soon there were two perfectly brewed cups of warm, not hot, tea. It was warm enough to be comforting but not hot that one would burn their mouth. Alizati brought the tea on a tray and placed it down on the coffee table in front of the sofa. He took a seat across from Allan. "How have you been doing, Allan? I have been concerned for your wellbeing," Alizati rarely expressed his feelings so forwardly, but Allan was a safe person where he could be open and honest with. He was still trying to get past his own resevations about his feelings as he felt for so long that being an android, his feelings did not actually matter because they were not organic. Upon making so many friends on the station, he had learned that there were many people who would gladly listen to his feelings and did not hold any prejudice against him because he happened to have different stuff going on inside.

Allan reached down to gently pat Yuch's head upon seeing that they looked tired. Even if he knew that they weren't sentient... it still felt right to give them comfort if they seemed tired or otherwise under the weather. Few things felt right currently. That was something that always did. "Men's blend is the best one," he said, it was a factual statement, he was sure - maybe one day he'd ought to run a study across the galaxy and see which blend was actually preferred. He was quite sure it would end up being Men's blend if it was a taste test. "Thank you." Looking over at the cups of tea, Allan decided to wait just another moment before putting it into his hands, enjoying the warmth that it brought when he did. "How have I-" he started to respond even before he could fully process the question, and so he stopped. How had he been doing? He knew the answer to that, and he didn't know the answer to how he was currently doing, but Alizati had asked him the former, and so he would answer that question, yeah? Yeah. But he also had to consider that Alizati had just told him, out loud, that he was concerned for Allan's wellbeing. Allan wasn't entirely sure how to process that, either - it was nice to know? He wasn't thinking about it farther than that yet. "Uh... not... not great, that's for sure, um - bad? Pretty bad. Abysmal, really. I..." he was trying not to look Alizati in the eyes, and avoided looking so directly at the Furberus either, instead looking straight down into his tea. "I'm... sorry?"

Alizati was happy to see Allan was so loving towards the Furberus. At first he though it was odd that Allan and many other engineers personified non-sentient machines, but he had long since gotten used to it and now found it endearing. Plus. the Furberus seemed happy for the attention too. They were designed to be a pet, not sentient, but still could react and show emotions. "I concur, it is," He voiced his agreement with Allan's statement about his fiance's blend of redspice tea. It was unmatched. Alizati let Allan take as many pauses as needed, not looking at him when he spoke, but still facing him. He had read the reports as well as the letter from medical that granted Allan time off. There were no specific details of course, just that Allan was approved for medical leave. "There is no need to apologise," Alizati said softly as he picked up the pretty handmade clay up in his hands and sipped the tea. "You have been through a lot. It is alright to have moments where you are not well. I am glad to see you, Allan. Regardless of your state, it is always comforting to see a friend. If there is anything you would like to talk about, I am 'all ears' as they say, otherwise, I have no problem having tea in silence," Alizati stated as his eyes shifted from Allan to the Furberus. The three headed creature was now relaxing curled up on the sofa, Bir on top of Ikki, and Yuch being the closest to Allan.

Allan was still looking into his tea as Alizati responded, but he was absolutely listening, and closely, to what the man across from him was saying. The first few statements were standard - not that they weren't appreciated; simply, they were phrases that he was used to hearing from people who meant well. But when Alizati said he was glad to see him and that it was... always comforting to, regardless of his state... fuck, that was when Allan's eyes started to water. Clearly, because of the steam from the tea. Usually, though, hot tea didn't make your lips quiver while your eyes watered. He took a deep breath, blinking very slowly as he did, which effectively cause the tears to start rolling down his cheeks, so he could actually look at the man in front of him instead of through a blurry lens. He had no words, but he looked Alizati in the eyes and simply nodded, his mouth opening for just a moment as if he was about to say something, but instead it was just a short exhale, and not one of laughter, but one that preceded a crack of his voice as he spoke again. "I- um, sorry again, I don't mean to.. thank you, really, but I -" none of those words didn't sound like he was about to break down, and that's exactly what he did after he looked down, after another stuttered breath. He wasn't even pretty when he was crying, and here he was just sobbing in front of his friend and his boss with a cup of tea clutched in his hands. He didn't come in here with that intention, and a muttered 'sorry' probably left his lips somewhere in between it all. He really should have made sure that he was at least a little bit more okay than coming in here. Maybe he should have waited a full week after the event. Something like that.

Alizati welcomed the slower pace of their interaction and would occasionally glance off to the side or readjust his two hands on the cup. When Alizati's mechanical eyes glanced back at his friend he was surprised to see the beginnings of tears in his eyes. His first thought was that something was wrong with the tea or something he said, but the silent look was enough to reassure him that the tears were not of sadness. "No apology needed," Alizati placed his cup down and stood up to grab a small cloth to offer to Allan. The CEO was not very good at displays of any sort of emotion. Even when trying to show his compassion towards Allan, he kept the same Vulcan stoicism about him. The Furberus slithered a little closer to Allan with Bir rubbing his neck against Allan's arm. Yuch was somehow asleep, again, and Ikki had his eyes looking off into the distance. "You are allowed to cry here. It is alright. I am also willing to provide comforting gestures like... A hug?" Alizati remembered how much better hugging his mother made him feel so perhaps the same level of comfort could be given to Allan.

No apology needed. That was something Allan didn't hear much, having not apologized unnecessarily for much - but it was all too comforting to hear now, especially the more guilty he started to feel that he was in this situation at all. He took the cloth with a silent, mouthed 'thanks' and simply held it against his face for a moment, taking a deep breath again, and again, and again for good measure. As Bir rubbed his neck on Allan's arm, it did a little more to comfort the young officer. When Alizati spoke again, Allan took the cloth away from his face, wiping around his eyes a little more before setting it on his lap, having set the tea aside.. at some point, he wasn't sure where along this whole thing that he had. That was fine, though, he had to focus his brain on registering that Alizati had just... offered him a hug!? He looked up at the man, blinking slowly, not bothering to stop the tears dropping down from his eyes when he did as his brows furrowed a bit in confusion. "A.." he started to question, but cut himself short, "um - that would be.. um, y- yes?" he said as if that made any more sense, but he hoped that perhaps it would.

Alizati was glad that Allan took the cloth and was happy to see that the Furberus' attempts as comfort seemed to be helping. The three headed creature was no more sentient than a house cat or mini sehlat, but they were observant and clearly cared a lot for Alizati's friends. Alizati stayed silent, letting Allan take as much time as he needed to 'cry it out'. If there was one thing Vulcans were good at, it was being patient and letting someone have space to express their emotions. Alizati blinked a couple times when Allan looked at him with a furrowed brow gaze and spoke in broken words. "Alright then. I will provide the hug," Alizati said in the most Vulcan-like way. Aside from Men and his own father, Alizati did not have much experience with affection or how one 'naturally' initiated such actions. Alizati knew it was proper to ask for consent, but how to go about the action after such consent was given, that was the next hard part. Alizati spread his arms and slowly pulled Allan into an embrace. Being an android, Alizati didn't have any muscles and his 'skeleton' was metal. He didn't have a pulse, but he did have a heartbeat that was noticeable when his chest was pressed against Allan's. Bir made soft purring noises and attempted to 'hug' Allan too by squeezing between Alizati's arm and Allan's body, joining the embrace. "As they say in standard, I care you, Allan. And I will be here to support you as long as you need."

Allan's lips curled into a slight smile as Alizati really did say that in the most Vulcan-like way. Not even. It was the most Alizati-like way. It was a sense of gratitude that added to all the emotions swirling within him - vulnerability, a hint of confusion at the unexpected intimacy, and as Alizati pulled him into the hug - a sense of relief, even. He let out a shaky breath, resting his head against Alizati's shoulder as he hugged the man back. "Thank you," he said, his voice barely above a whisper against the quiet of the room, combining with the gentle sounds of Bir's soft purring and the steady rhythm of Alizati's heartbeat, such an exact rhythm which Allan had always known existed, but hadn't ever heard until now. Both sounds were programmed to be at such an exact precision, and yet that was exactly what he needed right now. Something that he knew wasn't going to suddenly change and go awry, something that he knew would stay constant. "For being here, for understanding... for, um... everything, I fucking care you too, man, it... it, um.. means. It means a lot." Rather than further speak any words, he simply held onto his friend a little tighter.

As the two embraced and their heartbeats fell in and out of unison, Alizati felt as ease. Perhaps it was Dzharok, or maybe it was just Alizati's own unique personality, but he had always liked taking a caretaker role. For so long he had felt that his life experiences as an android would make emotional comfort difficult or make him unapproachable. He appreciated this unique opportunity to prove himself wrong and comfort a dear friend. "Any time," Alizati's sensitive hearing picked up on the soft sounds of the Furberus as they continued to offer their own form of comfort. He took a slow breath, his chest pressed up against Allan's as it expanded. "I am glad to hear they you fucking care me," Alizati assumed 'fucking' was an intensifier here as him and Allan were not engaging in any sort of explicit act. Unless one was to ask a sheltered Vulcan who may have thought hugging was incredibly intimate. "And I will continue being here whenever you need," Alizati added as he tightened his grip on Allan. Unlike his human friend, Alizati was not as soft or 'cuddly'. The Furberus was, but the three headed creature still had a metal skeleton under their fluff. Bir kissed Allan's side with his little beak and the other two heads seemed to have fallen asleep.

'Any time'. It was two words, but it meant so much to the young engineer as they continued to hug, a breath of laughter leaving Allan's lips as Alizati replied with his exact words. "Me too," he tightened his grip in response to the other doing so, "in case you ever need." It was really only a second or so that had gone by before he started giggling, leaning back just a little as Bir kissed his side with his little beak. "Sorry, sorry, that - that tickles," he said, trying to angle his head so that he could see the Furberus and pet Bir's little head. Such a simple little gesture made him look back at Alizati with a smile. "I'm not sure how you managed to program such a sweet little creature, but you did," he pointed out, choosing to ignore the other thoughts in his head at this moment. There were about a million of them; from whether he would ever feel ready enough to return to work, whether he would be able to love as he normally did, whether he would be able to support the people he was supposed to support on this station without endangering them somehow - all these things seemed to subside for this moment, and the fact that it was just a simple, but extremely powerful and meaningful gesture from a friend that did so was incredible. "I'll miss them, but T'lhai is going to love them so much, too."

Alizati watched as Allan pet Bir's head. The three headed Furby had indeed grown comfortable on the station and made some good friends. Bir's eyes soon closed as he fell asleep along with his brothers. They didn't need to 'sleep' per say, but Alizati had programmed them to be able to enter an idle rest phase, similar to how electronics would shut off when not in use. "I did a lot of research into robot companions. It was convenient that earth has had so many commercially available so finding a template to build off of was no trouble," Alizati explained, not smiling back but he gave Allan an acknowledging nod. "She seems excited to meet them. She is a curious girl, I have no doubt she will enjoy their companionship just as much as you and everyone else here has," Alizati took a slow breath and glanced at the sleeping Furberus. "You are welcome to remain here as long as you need. You are always welcome here, Allan."

Allan continued to gently stroke Bir's fur, somehow it further calmed him as it fell asleep along with the others. In fact, it started making himself feel a little sleepy too, now with the emotions somewhat subsided in his mind, the hum of all the electronics in the room creating a soothing backdrop to their conversation..* "It's amazing, really," he whispered, as if he was afraid the Furberus would wake up if he was too loud. "the way they interact, it's really ... real," he noted, smiling softly as Alizati mentioned that T'lhai was a curious girl. The Furberus really had become a beloved member of 777 at this point, and she really would love them just as much. "Yeah, they have a way of bringing this crazy positive vibe to everyone they meet," he laughed, wiping some of the tears off his cheeks, "even if they're scared shitless at first. Hopefully she won't be scared, has she seen the Furberus yet at all?" He kept that smile on his face as Alizati said that he was welcome to remain there as long as he needed, and he almost cried again. It was tempting, really, and the corners of his green eyes did actually tear up just a little again. "Mm, yeah, I - thank you, again, um.. this might, be a .. weird question, but- when you say that, is there... is there a reason? Like," he wasn't sure how to put it. Perhaps the answer was right in front of him, but answers were hard to come by right now. "Why am I..?"

The Furberus lay calmly, letting Allan pet them to his heart's content. "Starfleet's latest research on android emotion chips is very advanced," Alizati stated, wanting to give credit to the sources that made the Furberus possible. He did a lot of the framework and programming, but it wouldn't have been possible without the countless research hours by others made accessible via the Federation's public database. He watched as his pet seemed fully relaxed, resting happily beside Allan. "Crazy vibe? I am not sure 'crazy' is the word, but they certainly bring a vibe," In Alizati's mind, crazy meant like rave crazy, which is not what he pictured for his pet. "She has seen them and she loves them," Alizati stated. "On a few video calls. She already knows their names and has planned... Tea ceremonies for them," Alizati tried to remember some of the things T'Lhai had said when he had asked her what she thought of the creature. "Why are you...? Welcome here?" Alizati raised an eyebrow, looking back at Allan with a slightly perplexed look. "You are welcome here because you are my friend. I value openness and directness with those I consider friends. Dzharok and myself have lived our lives with doors being shut in our faces, being the 'aliens of the town' as one may say. Although I understand I cannot change my past, I can certainly make things right for future generations. Not only because I am the CEO on this station, but because I truly value each and every one of my officers and no one should ever have to feel the way Dzharok or I felt in our past," Alizati spoke honestly, switching languages briefly to Rihannsu to deliver his little monologue. It was a change only noticed by the change in his cadence if one was using the UT.

"Crazy as in, um, really good, I'm glad she loves them," he actually laughed a little when Alizati said that T'Lhai had planned tea ceremonies for the Furberus. "Tea ceremonies, oh, man, I'm sure -" he looked down at the Furberus as if they'd have an opinion, "I'm sure they'd love that, although can they safely drink tea..? Could always modify it.." a little smile came to his face again, it was always in his nature to think of some sort of modification when it came to machines of any kind. "Either way, they're gonna be the most dignified guest, surely," he said with a bit of a laugh. They could wear their little top hats and bowties! He also nodded with a simple 'yeah' in response when Alizati asked him for confirmation of what his question was, realizing he hadn't really said it too clearly - and then Alizati answered the question... fuck, that sure was an answer. The bit about valuing each and every one of his officers was... oh, man, was he going to cry again? "A..Alizati, yeah, that.." yeah, he was crying again! Just a little, just a little as he leaned his forehead forwards onto Alizati's shoulder for just a moment. "It's nice, um, to - to just be, yeah? To be like... allowed to be, it's not... always like that, yeah, it's - um," he was pretty sure he'd told Alizati already about how superior officers had treated him in the past, particularly during the last time he'd seen a shuttle explosion - the very stark difference between then and now was incredible, honestly. "It's... inspiring, really? Like, I hope, I hope I can do the same thing, um - for you, for everyone else. And.. I know I already said thank you, but fuck, thank you. Again."

The Furberus was relaxing, but Bir let out a little 'chirp' in agreement to the tea ceremonies (presumably). "As of now, they cannot drink tea so it would have to be pretend tea, but I think they will still be a good party guest for her," Alizati knew that his father was going to raise T'Lhai in a more lenient Vulcan household. He wasn't sure about Sorn's wife, although if they were separated, it may be alright. Alizati didn't mind the tears and lifted his hand to gently rub Allan's back in a soothing motion. He had read Allan's discipline file and fully understood that his friend did not have the best experiences with authority. Seeing his friend's tears like this, ironically, reassured him that he was doing a good job. It meant Allan was comfortable with him and it was something that honestly, was not true for many of Alizati's previous colleagues. He was always seen as the strict and 'by the books' engineer, often frustrating others at his lack of leniency. He still struggled with being 'fun', but that's what Allan was here for. "And I am thankful you are here to bring 'fun' to our division. I... Cannot say I am very fun, but together, we make a good team. Allan. Thank you for being my ACEO and my friend."
